How we handle your information

Pack 79 collects only what we need to run the pack and keep families informed.

Last updated October 24, 2026

What we collect

The contact form asks for your name, email, phone (optional), your child’s den and your message. When you sign up for an activity, the form asks for the parent’s name and email, your Scout’s name and den, and the names of everyone attending. Payments are handled by Zeffy; the pack never sees your card number. Some campaigns send you to another site, such as a T-shirt store or a sign-up form: what you enter there is handled under that site’s own privacy policy.

Who can see it

Only Pack 79’s adult volunteers, who sign in with accounts the pack has approved: pack admins and the volunteer who runs this website see everything, and den leaders see the families in their den and messages sent to their den. Parents who sign in see their own family and, once a pack leader has confirmed their Scout’s den, a roster of the other families in their den: each Scout’s first name and last initial and their parents’ names, and a parent’s email and phone only if that parent chooses to share them. A family can take itself off the roster on its family page. It is never shown on the public site.

How we use it

To answer your message, run the activity (rosters, headcounts and receipts), keep the pack’s records, and email families about pack activities. Every announcement email has a link to stop announcements.

Who we share it with

No one, and we never sell it. The services that run the site handle it for us: Zeffy (payments), Gmail (email), Cloudflare (pack photos), and Vercel and Neon (hosting).

Children

This site is for parents and guardians. Please fill in forms yourself rather than letting your Scout do it. On this site we never post a Scout’s full name, address or schedule.

Photos

Leaders may share photos from pack and den activities in albums on the family pages, only with signed-in pack families and the pack’s leaders, including the volunteer who runs this website: the pack’s photos with families whose Scout’s den a leader has confirmed, and a den’s photos with that den’s families. Albums are titled by event, without Scouts’ names, and photos carry no captions; the camera’s location and details are removed when a photo is added. Each photo is deleted automatically after the number of days the pack sets, at most 90. Any family can report a photo, which hides it until a leader looks at it. Families can download photos to keep; the copies they save are theirs to look after, and we ask that they stay within the pack. Photos are stored privately with Cloudflare and only ever sent through this site to signed-in families and leaders, never as public links.

Signing in with Google

Pack leaders, and parents in the pack’s family directory, can sign in with their Google account. Google then shares your name, email address and profile picture with the site. We never see your Google password, and we can’t read your Gmail, contacts, calendar or files.

We use them only to check that you’re a pack leader or a parent in the directory, to show you the pages for your role and family, and to show who is signed in. We don’t save anything Google sends us: a cookie in your browser keeps you signed in, expires after 7 days, and is removed when you sign out. We never share or sell it, or use it for advertising. The site has no advertising or tracking cookies.

You can remove the pack’s access at any time in your Google Account settings. Our use of information from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
